A Collection of Spiritual & Wordly Thoughts

Blessings, beautiful souls —

Driving to my son’s school this morning, the sun was rising between two of the highest peaks in the distance, sending its rays through the sharp edges of rock and nearly blinding me with its autumnal intensity. And yet, the drive home held just as much wonder.

The mountain close to our home looked as though it had been painted with an autumn brush. The colours, not quite as intense as a Canadian autumn, but certainly speckled with just as much glory and grace. Beside it, low in the sky and at a size that almost seemed like a dream, was the moon, beginning to wane from the beauty of yesterday’s fullness and saying hello from literally the opposite side of the sky from the sun.

It felt like a true mirror of the depths of ourselves: our subconscious, all that rests quietly beneath the surface, and all that arises when we wait and allow grace to illuminate what needs to be shown and unravel what needs to be released, in its own time.

The moon surrenders, the sun illuminates, and the Earth remains beneath them both, moving through her slow transformation, reminding us that change does not need to be hurried to be beautiful. With slow surrender comes grace. All on its own time.

There was something about seeing all three this morning – the enormous waning moon, the rising sun, and the autumn Earth between them- that felt like witnessing the whole cycle at once: what is being released, what is being illuminated, and what is quietly becoming.

Yesterday evening, I went to draw some cards from my The Wild Unknown Pocket Archetypes deck. One card fell out, and I pulled another. The card that fell out touched me: Prayer. Specifically, the guidebook calls for surrendering to the call to fall to your knees in prayer – which is exactly what happened to me yesterday, without control. In fact, I have been drawn to many involuntary movements as of late. Hand formations that are perhaps mudras (perhaps it is time to read my book on Mudras: Mudras for Modern Life). Moving my arms along with my breath. Guiding energy over my head in prayerful worship.

The second card was The Vision – the dream, the imagined, the revealed. There is that word again. It speaks to rediscovery of your great purpose and an enchanted aliveness in all the world that follows. Most importantly, it talks about doors opening. What synchronicity! And with it, I felt ca

In 2023, on my website for my motherhood services, AwakenedLittleSouls.com, I blogged for over 60 consecutive days. I was inspired by the book Little Stories of Your Life, which I tend to reread at least once a year. I suppose this post is just a place to get my thoughts down on paper because I feel called to do so. Nothing of great substance or value to anyone besides me, but this is my little piece of digital real estate, and I am not making content just to be consumed; I do not aim to be consumable. I just aim to be honest, authentic, open, and when my spirit says write, I listen; no questions asked.

But, with that, I pull a card from my Seasons of the Witch: Mabon oracle for the Collective and get: 2. Apple of my Eye – Not all that’s alluring may be what it seems; see beyond the illusion.

I’ll leave you with that to ponder.
