Blessings, beautiful souls —
Though I know many have difficulties letting go of summer, there is nothing I love more than falling over that ledge at the end of August and landing into Autumn. Because, for me, it begins the moment I see September on my calendar.
My spirit is awoken with falling leaves that crisp underfoot, with colours changing across the Alpine valley, with cooler mornings and warm sweaters. This is a season that embraces the magic of change, of steaming cups of tea, of spices that soothe your spirit. I am excited to pull out the Crockpot and create dishes that warm the soul, to sit with oracle cards while my son is at school and have a moment for play, to read books that invite me into worlds of fantasy and enchantment. Though the sun sets earlier (my chickens enter the coop by 20h30 now) and takes longer to rise (they’re knocking to be let out by 6h30), something within me rises and will not set. Something eager to embrace the call of Spirit and to extend that out towards the Collective.
As I write this, I hear a birdsong, still in the depths of the incoming Autumnal darkness: yeep yeep yeep yeep. A call I’ve never heard before, despite this being home for over a year. A search with the help of AI helps me unravel the mystery: a common quail is hiding somewhere in the forest behind my house, singing its song before it migrates to Africa for the colder months.
I uncovered that it’s known as the “Heard-Only Bird.” Quails are notoriously secretive, and because they stay completely hidden deep within tall grass, grain fields, and crops, even professional birdwatchers rarely ever see them. Finding one strictly by ear is the classic, textbook way to experience this species. Apparently, hearing them is just as lucky as seeing one – and this one, somewhere in the farmer’s field behind my house, has gifted me its song in the darkness. And with a little extra searching, I uncovered that these birds are symbols of good luck, trust in Divine timing, and protection. A beautiful gift from the Universe as I sit here and contemplate the changing season and what it means for me.
It was on this seasonal precipice in 2015 that I started Seeking Celestial Grace, the name given to me in a moment of meditation but which now resonates so deeply with my heart frequency, and infuses itself into all my creations (Celestial Smith Tarot, fleurs celeste oracle, Celestial Temple, etc…). Seeking Celestial Grace was never separate from me; it was never just a business name; it was a state of being that just extended itself into the physical. I am endlessly seeking Celestial grace – wisdom, humility, and guidance from the Divine. Eleven years of healing; eleven years of dedicated and focused personal transformation.
It’s quite curious that I continue to arrive at September with a sense of Awakening – and perhaps that is why I love Autumn so much. Autumn seems to represent, to me, a beginning rather than an ending. It doesn’t feel like the world going to sleep but feels like my heart and spirit waking up. Eleven years ago, this waking up started something I could have never imagined. I followed my inner knowing to Paris as a result of Seeking Celestial Grace. I have authored books and created sacred spiritual tools. Most importantly, I am reading for clients all around the world and am helping them tap into their own inner knowing with greater Awareness.
It has me asking myself: What happens when we arrive at another threshold and realize how much of our life began because we once listened to a quiet inner voice? And: What is my inner voice saying to me, now? Where will this threshold lead me?
It has invited me back into Tarot and is opening my door back up to Tarot offerings for others, which I absolutely love. But there’s more there; I know it. I will just allow it to unravel itself on its own time. I have lived through enough beginnings now to know that they rarely announce themselves as beginnings. Sometimes they arrive as a name that appears during meditation. Sometimes they sound like a decision made in the first waking moments of a late August morning. Sometimes they are simply a birdsong coming from somewhere you cannot see.
And so, I will listen to where Autumn calls me, and I will trust what path will unravel as the light changes, the colours emerge from the trees, the air gets cooler, and I wrap myself up more deeply in the cloak of my inner world.
