Blessings, beautiful souls —
We have entered into a new month; we sit on the first day of a month named after the first emperor of Rome. There is a power to this month (and not only because it is when I brought physical life into this world for the first time), and I always find that it calls me into a deep space of humility and quiet. It is almost a perfect balance of creation vs. stillness. It always calls me back into a place of dedicated practice, focused spiritual learning, and amplification of what is offered to the Collective.
I decided to do a reading for the Collective for the approaching 8/8 portal – which, if you are new to this, is the Lion’s Gate Portal. I love this portal, because the Lion which guards it always reminds me that the totality of all I need as I move through this is within me. There is no need for rituals, for spells, for performance – simply step into and release, and Abundance will replace the ebb of Self with a beautiful flow.
I pulled three cards from my tarot deck, asking the following questions:
- Where should the Collective direct their intention and focus for this portal?
- What does Spirit want the Collective to know?
- How do we emerge from this portal and step more fully into Ascension?
The cards I got were as follows:

Where should the Collective direct their intention and focus for this portal?
The Moon – What an absolutely fitting and magical card to pull, and how it aligns with the message that always comes through during the Lion’s Gate Portal. We are not called to seek answers, we need to become more comfortable with non-answers, with mystery, with shadow. We cannot seek to illuminate everything all at once, and we need to let everything rise to the surface on its own time. Our intention and focus should be on healing what rises, and surrendering to the interconnected intuition which lives within us.
What does Spirit want the Collective to know?
4 of Pentacles – Truth be told, this card is haunting me. I saw it more times than I can count in July, and here it is again. As a reading for the Collective, Spirit extends this message out: what are we gripping on with such force that limits us and doesn’t allow room for growth? Where are we blocking our own expansion by sitting in this space of, this is good, this is great, look how much I already have! There is more being promised to us, but we aren’t leaving the space for it! Whether that’s letting go of old identities, a scarcity mindset, habits or relationships that do not benefit our spirit, or even labels that box in who we are – we need to face that reality and let go of our grip on it all.
How do we emerge from this portal and step more fully into Ascension?
The Hierophant – The spiritual teacher card, the one who is wise in all things Spirit: this is what awaits us on the other side of this portal. He is living Truth – with a capital T. If we focus on release – of what we have held onto for so long, and of our longing to have answers to the why – we will step into the Hierophant we are called to be. We will become that bridge between the aether and earth, we will become lived examples of the Oneness.
Then, I pulled a card requesting Herbal Spirit guidance from the Maia Toll Herbiary Oracle, and this card came forward – which I thought was a beautiful companion to the reading and a fitting key that unlocks the entire message:
Integration is the key between all the cards we pulled above. In order to make room to become what we are meant to become, we must integrate our experiences and become living examples of them (The Hierophant). We must become lived Truth. We must recognize that all this magic is not separate from us at all; it is all a part of this intricate web with the Oneness. The portal is not asking us to keep growing; the portal is asking us to be Whole by surrendering to who you are in this web.
The card itself has the description of “Think Macro” – Mullein brings “multifaceted understandings into alignment with one another” and we are called to see the patterns within the darkness. Within the book, it even says that she is a torch in the darkness – much like The Moon!

As always, this portal is not the energy of rushed intensity that many make out the Lion’s Gate to be: it is always felt as very gentle but very transformative, to me. This reading reads as the same. On this first step on the path to this blessed portal date, I have booked another session with the EESystem. Using the guidance of this reading, my intention as I enter the space will be as follows: I surrender what does not serve me and trust the Universe knows the why – and that knowing is enough. I integrate every part of myself into wholeness, remembering that I am never separate from the Whole. I let go of control and release all that blocks me from the flow of Abundance. I walk, blindfolded, but with faith and grace.
I am so thrilled that I get to begin this month with another magical EESystem session – a most glorious way to welcome in the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal. In France, we also have a total solar eclipse on the 12th, and it feels, to me, like a very tangible and glorious visual of the portal closing. Make good use of the energy that is swirling among you, from now until the 12th. I know I will.
The Lion’s Gate Portal is an invitation to return home to ourselves. Through surrender, we create space. Through integration, we become whole. Through faith, we remember that we have never been separate from the Divine flow moving through all things. Walk gently through this threshold, knowing Spirit is guiding every step – I walk with you.
