Seeing Through the Ego: Spiritual Lessons from Jesus Speaking by Gina Lake

Blessings, beautiful souls,

Today, inspired by and using quotes from the book, Jesus Speaking: On Embodying Christ Consciousness by Gina Lake, I wish to speak to a few spiritual concepts. This book is a channelled text by Jesus, and it reads as I feel Him when I also tune into his energy and channel His messages. There is Universal Truth in this text and important spiritual reminders worth speaking to.

I am not the one and only son of God. Each of you is a son or daughter of God—equal to me. The only difference between us is that I have realized my God-nature more than you have realized yours.

This is the first quote I highlighted as I was reading Lake’s book, but it stands for a wonderful foundation that helps strengthen and amplify a spiritual Truth I try to explain to everyone: we are all tapped into the same well (Source-energy) and separation between us is merely a falsehood and an illusion. It is caused when a person views another with a lens of Ego.

Of course, there are people on this planet who are nefarious, who are low-energy Beings, disconnected entirely from accessing the well we have within us (the Kingdom of God), but it’s not our job to victimize ourselves when we encounter them or face a problem with them. We must hold them in the same space of Love that we hold the angelic guides we connect to, the Ascended Masters who assist us, and the Universe Itself.

Because yes, life can be hard. Yes, life can be complicated. And yes, people can treat us badly. But we signed up for this and much of our suffering is related to how we, ourselves, respond to the world. We are not in control of our external world, but we are 100% in control of our inner world. How we feel and respond is our responsibility, and it ends up amplifying or softening the impact caused to us by the external world and others. I wrote an article about this that speaks to us being completely in control of one thing and one thing only: ourselves. Yeshua also channels a similar message, stating that our suffering is a result of our false self’s Ego reactions to our experience, and we must learn how to discern between our False Self’s reaction and our True Self’s reaction – which leads us to goodness, joy, and Love.

“Life is unpleasant and difficult,” without realizing that you are causing yourself and life to feel bad by what you are saying to yourself about yourself, others, and life. You don’t see your role in creating your negative feelings and your negative experience of reality. You aren’t seeing reality truly, as it actually is but through the lens of the ego.

Yeshua also says that a truly Christ-like person sees the beauty in the world and views this planet for what it is on an Ascended level, saying, “It is time to shift your way of seeing, to be born anew or reborn to the world. In one way of perceiving, the world is suffering, and in the other, it is blessed, sacred, the greatest gift and greatest joy. […] You see through fresh eyes. You see what the mystics and saints have seen, if only briefly. But that is enough to confirm your suspicions and carry you forward on your search for transformation.” This had me singing a line from Jesus Christ: Superstar: “Surely you’re not saying we have the resources to save the poor from their lot? There will be poor always, pathetically struggling; look at the good things we’ve got!” Where your attention flows, your energy goes: if you believe you are suffering, you will continue to suffer. If you focus your attention on the strength and beauty of God’s Love and how it flows within everything and everyone, you’ll find a wave to ride that takes you out of suffering.

Not that I am insinuating that I have reached any perfected level of Christ Consciousness or anything, but only as of the last three years have I begun to say to others that I actually really love how beautiful, magical, and glorious this planet is, and I think I would return to experience it again. I used to say I was done, but for what? A selfish escape because I was unhappy here and didn’t think any beauty weighed against my unhappiness.

Yes, there is darkness, and yes, there is pain, but my departure from social media makes me living proof that you can not suffer in that trench of unhappiness if you choose not to suffer. I didn’t want to be exposed to content that made me angry, sad, riled me up, and distracted me, so I removed myself from the suffering I exposed myself to. Instead, I wanted to be present in the world, and with it, I began, again, to see this world with fresh eyes. And it is so spectacular and often a living dream, where I am infinitely blessed that I get to help others see and follow their own spiritual destiny. This aligns with this channeled message later in the book, “Life is beautiful and infused with divinity, and it is your destiny to see and experience this more and more as you progress on the spiritual path.”

This is the work. This is your spiritual work. No one said it would be easy. When your soul chose to come here, it knew what it was getting into, and it said, “Yes, I’m up to the challenge!” You chose to be here, although most don’t remember making this choice.

It’s so much easier to blame the world than to check yourself. It’s so much easier to call the world ugly when you cannot see the beauty that awaits you in your own mirror. It’s so much easier to focus on the lack when Abundance takes discernment and hard work. When the spiritual gurus tell you that you build your world through your thoughts, it’s not from magic or manifestation: it’s by redirecting your energy towards your Divine Self rather than coaxing and cajoling your False Self. Lake channels, “It is important that you know this, or you might fall into feeling victimized by life. But you are not a victim of life, unless you believe the voice in your head. You are life itself, God itself incarnate. You are God, I am God, everyone and everything is God.” It’s hard to love the world when you don’t love yourself or understand, truly, what you deserve and what Source has to share with you. The well is infinite; even those who hurt you have access. And spiritual growth means being okay with this

This experience is such a blip on the giant timeline of our spirit! A mere blip! Why waste it stuck in a loop of suffering? Why waste it by not making time to recognize the beauty, majesty, and glory of this planet? Why blame your trauma for your negative patterns in life instead of recognizing no harm – and only grace – can be shared with your Divine Self? You are as powerful as the creator, and you can truly alter your external world – the reality of it, not just the illusory mask – through being awake and recognizing where Ego has gone and redrawn the life you are living through false thoughts.

I leave you with a final message from Lake’s channelled text, “The difference between most of humanity and those who are awakened or enlightened is their relationship to the voice in their head. Most of humanity is not aware that they are identified with the voice in their head. They believe it, trust it, and think that those thoughts are true and helpful, while this is the opposite of the truth.”

So are you truly awake? Are you really enlightened, after all?
